Accessibility

Junior High is ADA-compliant, but we can always do more to make our guests safer and more comfortable. If you would like to request specific assistance during your visit, please fill out this form and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

Currently, we do not have an ASL or non-English interpreter on staff, but you can request one using the same form linked above.

Below are measurements and specifications that may help you feel more prepared when visiting our space!

Entrance | Junior High’s front doors are 72” wide and able to swing both inward and outward. Our entrance has a small incline (significantly less steep than 1:48).

Our retail desk is 38” — within compliance — but we will happily service any guests away from the desk if requested!

Bathroom | Our bathroom and connecting hallway is ADA-compliant, but has a small, quarter-inch lip when entering. While working with our landlord on fixing this hazard, we have posted signage urging guests to be aware. Our bathroom consists of a single handicap stall and a urinal. The hallway has a handrail.

Parking | We do not have a handicap parking space or any designating parking for that matter. It sucks!

Staff training | Our staff is trained in deescalation and first aid. Since June 1, 2023, all of our staff receives mandatory training and certification in First Aid and CPR by an American Heart Association instructor.

A Junior High accessibility floorplan can be viewed here.

CURRENTLY WE DO NOT HAVE ANY MULTI-LINGUAL SERVICES. PLEASE REACH OUT TO hi@juniorhighla.com AHEAD OF TIME IF YOU ARE IN NEED OF A TRANSLATOR FOR THE EVENT YOU ARE ATTENDING.

Pricing Accessibility

Junior High offers an accessible pricing option for most ticketed events. This is a community-based effort in equitable wealth redistribution. Use our handy scale below to see where you fall in terms of financial privilege. Where to place oneself on the scale is a personal decision, but scroll down for some things to consider.

Access our Accessible Pricing option by using checkout code EATTHERICH to get 50% off any ticket price, no questions asked. If you place yourself higher on the scale we encourage you to make an additional donation towards Junior High’s efforts upon checkout.

+ Pay more on the scale if

— you own the home you live in, or are able to afford market-rate rent or higher

— you have investments, retirement accounts, or inherited money

— you travel recreationally

— you have access to family money and resources in times of need

— you have the choice to work part time or not to work due to the income of a partner or family support

— you have a relatively high degree of earning power due to level of education (even if you are not currently exercising your earning power, we ask you to recognize this as a choice)

— attending an event would be a sacrifice rather than a hardship, (i.e. a tradeoff with ordering out for dinner or buying a new outfit)

## **+ Pay less on the scale if**

— you are living on unemployment or limited income

— you do not have backup financial support from a partner or family

— you are supporting yourself or your family on minimum wage

— paying base price would lead to an economic hardship (such as not being able to put food on the table, pay rent, or pay for your transportation to get to work)

— the amount of expendable income you have after meeting your basic needs each month (groceries, bills, shelter, transportation) is less than the cost of an event
